1) It can be used to process various high hardness and high brittle metal materials and non-metal materials, such as ceramics, glass, semiconductors, gems, copper and aluminum and other non-ferrous metals and their alloys, heat-resistant alloy steels, etc. Because the diamond grinding wheel is easy to chemically react with the iron group elements, it is suitable for grinding hard and tough ferrous metal materials and ferrous metal materials with high temperature hardness and low thermal conductivity with cubic boron nitride grinding wheels. The cubic boron nitride grinding wheel has better thermal stability and stronger chemical inertness than the diamond grinding wheel. Its thermal stability can reach 1250∽1350℃, while the diamond abrasive is only 700∽800℃.
2) Strong grinding ability, good wear resistance, long life, easy to control processing size and realize processing automation.
3) The grinding force is small, the grinding temperature is low, and the surface quality is good, without burns, cracks and structural changes. When the diamond wheel grinds cemented carbide, its grinding force is only 1/4∽1/5 of the green silicon carbide wheel.
4) High grinding efficiency. When processing hard alloys and non-metallic hard and brittle materials, the metal removal rate of diamond grinding wheels is better than that of cubic boron nitride grinding wheels, but when processing heat-resistant steel, titanium alloys, mold steels, etc., cubic boron nitride grinding wheels are much higher than Diamond grinding wheel.
5) The processing cost is low. Although diamond grinding wheels and cubic boron nitride grinding wheels are relatively expensive, they have a long service life, high processing efficiency, few working hours and low overall cost.
In addition to the common features, diamond grinding wheel grinding and cubic boron nitride grinding wheel grinding have their own characteristics. For example, when cubic boron nitride grinding wheel grinding, its thermal stability is good, chemical inertness is strong, and it is not easy to have affinity with iron group elements.
